RELAP5-HD™ Real-Time Solution

RELAP5-HD leverages the fidelity of the nuclear energy industry’s most used thermohydraulic analysis code – Idaho National Laboratory’s RELAP5-3D – with GSE’s real-time simulation environment. The result is the most accurate reactor thermohydraulic solution on the market. The HD (High Definition) environment provides powerful debugging capabilities, model synchronization with the simulator, numerical enhancements and interactive debugging for real-time thermohydraulic simulators. It enables monitoring and debugging during calculations and allows users to monitor or plot the performance of any internal variables.

JADE™ and SimExec™ Tools

JADE is a set of integrated, high-fidelity modeling tools that provide full nuclear power plant simulation capabilities for fluid dynamics, electrical, logic and control systems. The JADE suite consists of JTopmeret, JElectric, JLogic, JControl and JDesigner.

SimExec is the glue that binds all of the simulation technology together and manages all of the real-time tasks. SimExec is applicable for Microsoft Windows as well as LINUX/UNIX operating systems. It provides a true multi-user environment for your team of model developers or maintenance engineers.

Xtreme™ and OpenSim™ Tools

With over twenty installations, OpenSim is the most widely used simulator executive in the North American nuclear power plant simulation market. Coupled with GSE’s Xtreme modeling tools, simulator engineers can model virtually any balance of plant system including two-phase flow systems, electrical generation and distribution systems, analog and digital control, and logic systems. But the use of Xtreme is not limited to only OpenSim environments. The “open” nature of GSE’s Xtreme toolset allows integration and usage with any executive in the simulation industry.

DesignEP and PSA-HD

GSE severe accident simulation solutions enable you to run and verify scenarios, develop procedures and processes, and provide training related to post-Fukushima requirements.

GSE’s PSA-HD software integrates EPRI’s Modular Accident Analysis Program (MAAP5) into a real-time simulation environment connected to all of the other plant systems in the simulator. This gives realistic plant behavior, allowing operators to assess accident scenarios in a holistic environment, practice severe accident management guidelines and experiment with alternative action scenarios.

DesignEP integrates and simulates the operation and performance of the major systems related to the nuclear reactor core and containment at both PWRs and BWRs. It allows you to view the interaction, and cause and effect, not only between multiple systems within a plant, but also between multiple units at a single site.

REMARK™ Core Modeling

The heart of the nuclear plant simulator is the reactor core model. With REMARK, our Real-time Multi-group Advanced Reactor Kinetics model, GSE Systems has advanced neutronics modeling beyond single energy groups. By explicitly modeling both fast and thermal neutron energy groups, REMARK achieves significantly better power and flux response during fast and local transients. REMARK simulates normal and emergency operations with fidelity approaching fuel analysis codes.

THEATRe™ Real Time Thermohydraulic

THEATRe is a generic transient analysis code developed for real-time nuclear plant simulation applications. It uses licensing-grade best-estimate engineering methodology. It can be used for thermal non-equalibrium, non-homogeneous two-phase flow systems involving steam-water mixture, non-condensable species and non-volatile solute.

JPro simulation software is specifically designed for the refining, oil and gas, and chemical process industries. It is an easy-to-use tool kit that process engineers can use to develop high-fidelity, real-time simulations customized to specific processes or control systems. EnVision™ Universal Simulation

The EnVision training solution uses universal process simulators to provide 80% of the required operational knowledge your trainees need at about 20% of the cost of a custom OTS. That’s because the system configurations of the EnVision universal simulators are typical unit operations – not your exact plant.
