| “Education through Simulation” |
Simulation methodology for training is not unique. What is unique is GSE Systems’ integration of simulation, technology, training and education for students, workers, supervisors, managers and leaders in the power and energy generation industries.
Adults learn best by doing. The reality of ‘doing’ can be simulated for any learning environment. This learning – combining training with education – produces a more capable, efficient and effective student, worker, and leader: safely, more quickly, and at less of a cost. In short, the simulation training and education center environment provides a more productive worker and leader.
GSE Systems is engaged in the establishment of simulation education and training centers for the power and energy generation industrial workforce. GSE has built a simulation training and education center in the United Arab Emirates in affiliation with the Higher Colleges of Technology and the Center of Excellence for Research and Technology in Abu Dhabi.

To help fill the pipeline of future plant operators in the southeastern U.S., GSE has established a training center at the Augusta Technical College in Augusta, GA in conjunction with the local nuclear power utility. GSE has worked with Augusta Tech to develop a two-year degree program in Nuclear Technology utilizing the Operator Jump Start Training Program as an integral part of the curriculum. The course materials and curriculum have been approved through the Technical College of Georgia Review Board. GSE can assist other utilities with local community college partnerships to implement the same program.
Building on this first model, GSE partnered with Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia to further establish a simulation education, training and research center. Operating as part of the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center, the GSE simulation center will have true global reach for the power generation and energy industrial workforce.
GSE is partnered with Strathclyde College, Glasgow, Scotland and the UK power industry to build a simulation education and training center similar to the Emirates Simulation Academy model.
Other simulation education and training centers – affiliated and partnered with highly respected engineering schools – are being established in North America, Europe and Asia. |
